Homoeopathic remedies and theory and how does the Placebo effect comes into it?

The theory is, treat like with like, based on the scientific treatment of giving someone cow pox to prevent smallpox. Basically they use poisons that are diluted.
If you have a rash that looks like a nettle rash you take one drop of the poison from the nettle and dilute it with water a thousand times and present this to a patient, but, if you put this through tests you will find there is non of the poison left it is so diluted.
Now if the theory is correct all you need to do is just take one drop of seawater and you have a remedy for all complaints because all poisons end up in the sea.
