WE HELP THE BODY TO HEAL ITSELF
Herbs And the Placebo Effect
Herbs are safe and harmless ask any drug addict e.g. poppy cannabis, tobacco and many modern day drugs are made from herbs. So therefor herbs have properties that affect the brain to help the body to heal itself.
How does the placebo effect relate to herbs
Take the herb garlic it contains natural antibiotics
yet people in France who take a lot of garlic have
as many illnesses as people in England
This is because the body adjusts to the garlic.
In the past it was said that all illness was caused by evil spirits and you had to get the good spirits on your side for you to fight the evil spirits. Sounds rubbish today but hold on. In those days they did not have the ability to see germs but they knew that something invisible was attacking the body so what else could they call them but evil spirits and they said the good spirits had to fight the bad spirits.
Now take the example of a man with a heavy cold who
goes into a room that has twenty woman in it and he
sneezes all over them I can guarantee if there was
woman in that room who had just returned to work
after loosing a loved one she will get that cold,
but if there is woman in that room who just fell in
love the night before she would not get that cold.
So when your spirits are high you are more
resistant. When your spirits are low your resistance
is low.
Now what has that to do with herbs and the placebo
effect. Consider this example. In the old days they
gave people a lemon as a cure for scurvy. They did
not give it to them because it had vitamin c but
because it had worked in the past. Now in those days
it was said that a persons spirit had to accept the
lemon or it would not work.
Nowadays we know that it is vitamin c that does the
job, but we all so know that the body cannot absorb
vitamin c if it lacks vitamin b The body loses
vitamin b when the brain is under stress so the
brain
has to be stress free for the body to absorb vitamin
c.
Now consider this, science knows that all herbs are
made with the same building blocks but just in
different positions!
Now we have a liver that is a better chemical plant
than all ICI chemical plants put together and has
the ability to turn carotene (a carrot)into
nicotine(tobacco)and the brain instructs the liver,
therefore, by effecting the placebo effect the brain
can instruct the liver to produce the healing
chemicals. That is why in the past when prescribing
herbs the herbalist always prescribed a ritual
whether it was to take the herbs at certain times,
or boil twice etc. Therefore the placebo effect is
important, that is why scientist take this into
consideration when testing new drugs. Remember as
far as herbs are concerned logic tells you.
THAT WHAT WORKED IN THE PAST MUST WORK TO DAY.
